Do You Own A Firearm? Would You??

2013 was a record breaking year for firearm purchases.

2014 is supposed to be a record breaker for ammunition.. do you own a firearm?

but i support that right for others---if they are qualified..

We do to. We're out in the country where it was necessary when we had our cattle calving. We are have a high population of cyotes. Also, we have a bunch from time to time that like to skeet shoot and we do that in the summer and fall.

The only time I get my back up is when you have an idiot who owns pistols with no gun license and threatens to kill his wife (waving a loaded hand gun in her face) and threatens to kill his dad. It's guys like this that give guns and gun owners a bad reputation. And the elders knew and did absolutely nothing until the cops went to check on the wife and so the elders df'd him but made his brotherinlaw an elder at the same time which it will be no time and he will be reinstated.

How Cold is it Where You Are?

here in gettysburg pa last night night we hit a low of -4 degrees but we were blessed with some wind that dropped the wind chill down to -22..

would agree except when they are unable to fly and at my backdoor that tells me not to turn my back on something that is totally helpless. And no I will not leave it there and throw straw on it and give it water when it can't drink. As far as our chickens go we have a heated water bowl for them along with a red heat lamp. Heat lamp is on only when temperatures go to minus thirty.

We are in southern Ontario. Last night with the windchill it was suppose to be almost minus forty. Right now it's minus eighteen and is expected to go to minus twenty. It's suppose to warm up as the weekend approaches to plus four.

Nevertheless, I opened my back door to find a little downey woodpecker with it's head tucked into it's wing with it's eyes closed frozen shut so I picked it up thinking it was dead and wrapped it in a warm towel but still no movement. So I put it in an old birdcage I had with seeds, fruit and a thick tree branch and four hours later I hear peck, peck, peck:) I'll let it out in another day when it's minus fifteen at night instead of this rigid minus thirty above.

When I read Proverbs 12:10 it makes me wonder. Please, if anyone has pets to not leave them out in the cold for two long. My little Buddy ran back to the house from the pasture after his morning ritual. He was cold.

ARE YOU AN ANGRY and BITTER APOSTATE?

i have noticed that there are different reactions to learning the "truth about the truth".

some become quite bitter and angry and become very activist.

others seem to just move on quite easily.. .

Why don't you ask all those bitter guys in the bible that couldn't walk away from their mishaps but had to put it in a book and make sure the whole world gets to read it from generation to generation?????????

So glad that we can read the more modern experiences from sites like these to know that we aren't alone. Helps us to deal with the mental and emotional abuse that they accuse us of doing to ourselves if only we had listened to them yet they are the ones that rip families apart and cause suicides ect....

Has anyone ever gone to check up on those ones that walked away quietly to really know how they are doing?

Head of the House?

i often see comments by ex-jws that would suggest some men still view themselves as "head of the house".

sometimes comments from women appear to support the idea as well.. how many still see things this way or have you completely got over it?.

We also had an ms's wife who would write her husbands talks and parts and always everytime before the poor guy would go up on stage, she would pull his talk papers out of his briefcase along with straightening his tie sitting in their usual spots which was two rows from the very front of the hall. All for show. Yet, she would always be the one to give the comments on how the woman should be in subjection. Wanted to puke along with everyone else. When he would make an error she would be shaking her head and go beat red in the face. Felt real sorry for the poor guy.

Head of the House?

i often see comments by ex-jws that would suggest some men still view themselves as "head of the house".

sometimes comments from women appear to support the idea as well.. how many still see things this way or have you completely got over it?.

Just look at the body of elders in the halls. In our old ones it were definitely the wives that ran the show. We even had our fill in circuit overseer elder let his wife rearrange car groups. Right from the platform the elder would say he didn't have time to "totally" study his part and would get the correct answer from his wife. He would actually ask her without her putting her hand up for direction. Never saw any wife in subjection except this one couple who were mennonites all their lives and then they became jw's. I often wondered how the mennonite wives made subjection look like it came so naturally.

I don't see any change in me or my spouse before, during or after this religion. Life is good! Actually it's way better now that there's no religion. Just pure freedom and respect.

i would like to locate some information within the publications with comments from the wts that could help me build a case.. case in point is: can an individual jw hold different views on doctrine from those held by the "organization" and still continue to be a jw if he chooses to, and if he keeps his opinions only to himself?.

i remember a recent magazine making comments regarding the intolerance of other religions who limit the freedom of their members to study the bible....or another one (publishers book?

) about those who harbored doubts about the course of events within the organization but remained inside.. i got an excellent quote from rutherford in the booklet "intolerance" but that was from 1936 already.

Friends of ours have kids that just wrote them off as parents and are denieing them their grandchildren as well. But when they went to show them an article on how it's alright for one to leave their own religion, the one relative who is an elder said that that doesn't apply to the witnesses. That's meant for the people at the doors. I'm afraid that is going to be the answer you get when they are cornered and have no answer to give when confronted with their own bull crap literature.

Doesn't the Shepherd the F@#$K book have something in it? I was told somewhere in it states that it's alright to have doubts but don't share those doubts with anyone else. I'd be curious to know.

Eden One, trust me when I say this but the elders are on here watching. I posted something that only the police and I would know about one of my accusers (which they made him an elder four months after my jc)brother and he was df'd the same week. Now I have posted something else which is about to happen and we will see if they try something on me afterwards. My so called friend whom I thought was a friend went on her husbands facebook and found out what I was on and who I am. He has since put a password on his computer. But if she's not careful I will go to the elders and tell them which couple is having an affair for she told me. I know the elders will probably pooh pooh it off since she has three of her grownup kids in the congregation. She turned into a jeckel when we stopped going.

When someone thinks they are one step above you since all it took was for you to stop going to the meetings, then they think they are more spiritual than you and have to report you. I don't care anymore. I have one more assignment to do and then I'm done. It could be that someone saw an opening for your label and wanted it. Walk away from them while you still have your dignity and a decent reputation. Trust me, the elders will conjure up anything and stir trouble in the congregation to be rid of you. They will spread false lies and lie to the co. They are wicked because they know the society won't touch thenm.

I mentioned the Candace Conti court case in a letter to a JW

so as i've written about this before.

an old friend of my late husband's suddenly contacted me out of the blue after over twenty years of shunning and we started writing.

i didn't know why she contacted me but i thought perhaps something had happened in the organisation to make her think, which is why i came on this forum in the first place.. she kept talking about her religion and basically 'witnessing' to me and i replied with just how long are we supposed to wait when it's been nearly 100 years since christ came into his kingdom.

I feel those that really read their bible and can see there's something wrong will hopfully follow what the bible teaches. Recently we had a snow storm and we had a lovely couple show up on our doorstep. They were here for five hours and all of us had our bibles open. They were very sincere since they use to be old order mennonite and have no tv, radio ect.. Even they could see something is wrong with the teachings that they refuse to put their faith in these goons. We'll be starting a bible study on the Law with them this week.

We told them about the pedophiles,Candice Conti , the new doctrine which they disagree with and the new bible. He told us that an elder had studied with him and his wife and when it came to 1914, the elder skipped that part and told him it would become more clear after they get baptised. It never did and the one elder has been assigned to him to always work with them in service and noone else could work with them. I use to feel sorry for her for there were no sisters but only the one elder and another brother that would work with them. It was the same elder that would have parts at the assembly explaining about how this couple came into the truth. This couple was used as this halls mascot for the assemblies and they know it. They told us they have no one that comes to see them. So he asked if we would come over and study with him and his wife. He loves talking the bible.

Actually, because of this site and learning what's in the new bible and doctrine, this fellow has a part coming up and he said he is going to bring up how you don't add or take away and then bring up in his talk some of the things we shared with him from here. Imagine trying different religions after being raised all your life as a mennonite just to get the boot and then try acouple of more religions and now this one. Yet, his family will never disown him accept the two that are in it. He has nine kids grown and married off. This man and his wife are eighty.

The best thing out of this is what he said that let every man be made firm in his own mind as to what is truth and what is not. He said until they tell him what we did wrong he'll make his own decisions. He said he doesn't believe we are bad people and that we can count them as one of our friends. Why is he like this? Because he is one of the very few that read their bible and apply it. You guys would love them.
